Serge Soudoplatoff is an Internet strategist, entrepreneur and angel investor. He enjoys a distinguished career at the leading edge of IT technology and usage, consulting to industry and government and presenting conference keynotes. He has lectured at engineering, management and business schools throughout France including Ecole Centrale, Hetic, and ESCP-EAP.

 

He co-founded HighDeal in 2000, a global company selling pricing software that Serge brought to Silicon Valley and which was acquired by SAP in 2007. He then cofounded Sooyoos in 2008, a web development agency, Scanderia, in 2015, a company designing games for learning through recreational online play. His last start-up, Mentia, was created in 2017 in San Francisco, and is offering a platform to deliver digital therapies for person with dementia.

 

He has invested in various start-up including kZero, the world leader on game and virtual world analytics, Nuukik, the top recommendation platform, and Livementor, the leading digital school platform.

 

Serge has numerous publications in international journals and conference proceedings, and has published two books, “Avec Internet où allons-nous” in 2005 and “Le monde avec Internet” in 2012. He also writes for the think-tank Fondapol (la Fondation pour l'innovation politique), including recently two pamphlets on blockchain, and artificial intelligence.

 

Prior to this, he was the Director of Innovation for France Telecom, launching projects on mobility, community marketing, and new economic models needed in the Internet age, and prior still, the manager of Cap Gemini’s Innovation Research Centre, where he launched European projects on neural networks and artificial intelligence.

 

Serge was privileged to be a part of a pioneering team working in speech recognition using Markov models at IBM research labs in Yorktown Heights, NY. In 1978, he began his career as a geographical engineer for the French National Geographical Institute, researching satellite image recognition and satellite positioning, predating the GPS.

 

Serge has an engineering degree from the Ecole Polytechnique, the moral equivalent of MIT. In his spare time he likes to travel, listen to music from all over the world and play piano.
